This endearing reference to Doctor Who fans originated from the following conversation with my little brother:

Me: Hey, you know how they refer to people who like sneakers as “Sneaker Heads”?
Him: Yea…
Me: Well guess what they call Doctor Who fans?
Him: (pause) Who-sers?

Needless to say, my family (like most of the US) cannot understand my fascination with Doctor Who.

Around 2006, my fiance had come across a British tv show called “Doctor Who” that he’d liked as a kid. He wanted me watch it, but it all sounded very silly to me. A couple of months later, he asked again, and I finally gave in and agreed to watch one episode (Rose). I was surprised, it really wasn’t that bad; I really quite enjoyed it.

Then we got to the “Dalek” episode… That’s probably when I lost it… I fell in love with that adorable little bundle of Kaled mutant, and I’d never be the same again…
