Being a Doctor Who fan isn’t all fun and games… especially when it involves a scarf that’s typically over 12 feet long… consider this a Doctor Who PSA of sorts…

I’m sure many of us have made the iconic Doctor Who Scarf for ourselves or loved ones.

I’m not ashamed to admit the length took some getting used to. Getting stuck in subway or car doors, or really any door for that matter, is somewhat of a Who-head rite of passage…

… also, be very careful with revolving doors… it creates quite a scene and I assure you, your friends will enjoy hours of comedy at your expense…

Doctor Who S3 finally lands state-side on the Sci-Fi Channel today, with future episodes on Friday nights at 8pm (est).

I’m looking forward to (re)watching the entire series again. It’s always interesting to see the reactions of the new viewers (i.e. those not rabid enough to find their own means of watching DW episodes the second they’re out) in the OG forums.

Being a dome-head means just about anything reminds me of Doctor Who.

Transformers far exceeded my expectations. The cg was breathtaking! Of course, I’m sitting there wondering who’d win in a battle, Daleks or Transformers.

At first I thought this was a tough one. Then I remembered, Daleks always win.

Hmmm… Toclafane… really…

These mechanic-looking beings came from a void-ish type hole, turns out they’re simply vehicles for a mutated creature…

… and wait… hey, I know that voice… Gelth? Is that you?

Although, I will admit, that being pro-Dalek I am very, very, very glad the Daleks weren’t called upon to save the day again… After two series finales, I think they deserve some well-earned time off!

Obligatory “Back from vacation” post here.

We had a great time in the Caribbean… (me and my crafty paraphernalia made it there and back in one piece!)

On our way into the country, we messed up on the customs forms, and somehow wound up on line with what must have been a plane full of Brits… everyone around us sounded like they were from the show… My family was quite weary and tired by that point. As much as I wanted to scream out WHO LOVES DOCTOR WHO?!?! or even WHO KNOWS WHAT DOCTOR WHO IS?!?! I was too scared that I’d be turned away from entering our Caribbean destination an the basis of being a complete nutter… Oh it was so tempting though…

I’m off for a little vacation with the family. Sadly, my current dalek project won’t be joining me as it requires a variety of very small knitting needles (i.e. size 000 stainless steel ones) that I refuse to risk losing to an illogical TSA agent. Yes, I know that knitting needles are on the Permitted Items List, but to my dismay, the TSA suggests non-metal needles (and I am an avid fan of aluminum/stainless steel). Even so, if the TSA agent is having a bad day, they can turn away just about anything they see fit. Grumble grumble…

With any luck, I’ll be able to buy some yarn today so that I can, at the very least, start on a new dalek project I’ve had in mind…
